Tonight's Presidential Address

Tonight, in an address to Congress and the nation, President Obama will give his detailed plan for the nation over the next year of his administration, covering a variety of topics from health care to the economy and education. Though presidents don't usually deliver the constitutionally mandated State of the Union Address during their first year in office, tonight's speech will follow a similar format and be given before a joint session of Congress.

You and your students can read more about tonight's important speech on the Center's Constitution Newswire, which displays full articles on current events related to the Constitution. Check back with the Newswire tomorrow for reaction and news stories on the president's address and Gov. Bobby Jindal's rebuttal on behalf of the Republican party.
